John Radcliffe Hospital - “Gift of Life” windows

The Organ Donation Welcome Centre - John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxfordshire, UK

designed by Martin Donlin - architectural glass artist

“The Gift of Life” was created to celebrate the many donors and their families who have thought of others through the gift of organ donation.

Renewal and regeneration were the inspiration for Martin’s design, represented by abstracted images of “forget-me-not” flowers. Martin wanted to incorporate energy with the use bright vibrant colours so Proto Glass Studios sampled the various colours from Martin’s digital artwork and overlaid with subtle delicate etched lines, integrated with the skyline of Oxford. The text “The Gift Of Life” runs throughout the entire design as a message to us all of the importance of organ donation.

Installed for Organ Donation Week, Proto Glass Studios supplied and installed the glasswork to fit the existing frames.
